Health and Safety Risk Assessment

Health and Safety Risk Assessment

What is it?

A health and safety risk assessment is a critical process to protect the health, safety, and welfare of employees and visitors while on your premises. It is not only a best practice but also a legal requirement for employers. Conducting a thorough risk assessment helps identify hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks effectively.

Why do we need it?

Conducting a health and safety risk assessment ensures the safety of your team and compliance with legal obligations, such as the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974). It helps focus on significant workplace risks that have the potential to cause harm, safeguarding your workforce and protecting your business.

When should we do it?

Health and safety risk assessments should be reviewed routinely, ideally on an annual basis. Additionally, a new assessment is essential when significant changes occur, such as moving to a new building, expanding the workplace, or introducing new processes or equipment.

"Getting a Health and Safety Risk Assessment done by OCM has given us peace of mind and means we meet regulations. Their service was so quick and easy to organise, we highly recommend."

How do we do it?

Our expert health and safety assessors, who are fully qualified members of The Institution of Fire Engineers, will visit your premises and conduct a comprehensive risk assessment. This will be done in line with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations (2003).

We provide a detailed report, complete with photographs of potential issues, along with practical advice on addressing any hazards identified. Following the assessment, we can offer quotes for any necessary compliance-related work, simplifying the process of maintaining a safe workplace.

Why not combine your health and safety risk assessment with a fire risk assessment to streamline compliance and ensure a safer working environment.
