Fire Warden Training
What is it?
Fire Warden Training equips fire wardens and staff responsible for fire safety with the necessary knowledge and understanding of their duties and risks in the event of a fire.
The course content includes:
Legal Framework
Theory of Fire: Spread, combustion, and types of fire
Extinguishers: Types and their use (theory only)
Human Behaviour in fire scenarios
Fire Evacuation Procedures
Duties of Fire Wardens (Marshals)
Common Causes of Fire in the Workplace
Fire Prevention measures
Fire Protection systems and strategies
Why do we need it?
Fire Warden Training is a legal requirement under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, which mandates that employers ensure a suitable number of trained personnel are available to assist with fire evacuations.
Key Benefits of Fire Training:
It saves lives by ensuring proper procedures are followed during a fire.
It’s the law: Employers must provide fire safety training to employees.
Prevention is key: Training reduces the likelihood of fire incidents by promoting awareness and prevention.
When should we do it?
While the law does not specify how frequently training should occur, industry standards recommend refresher training every 24-36 months to ensure skills and knowledge remain up to date.
Employers should also provide fire training:
When new staff join the organization.
When there are significant changes to fire safety procedures, equipment, or the building layout.

How do we do it?
Our on-site training is tailored to your workplace needs:
Delivered by experienced instructors.
Includes live assessments of staff during the session (no formal exams).
Concludes with certification upon completion.
Runs for approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours, balancing theory and practical knowledge.
Determining the Number of Fire Wardens: Your Fire Risk Assessment identifies the number of wardens required, depending on the workplace size, layout, and risk level:
Low-risk environments (e.g., small, single-story offices): 1-2 wardens may suffice.
High-risk or large environments (e.g., multi-floor buildings or 24/7 operations): You need sufficient wardens to cover each floor/building for all shifts, including coverage for absences (e.g., sickness, holidays).
